அரசியலிலும், நவீன கலாச்சாரங்களிலும் சரியானவற்றை அனுமதிப்பதற்காகவும், தவறானவற்றை சரிசெய்வதற்காகவும் குருத்துவம் ஏற்படுத்தவில்லை.

உண்மை, கற்பு, சுய தியாகம் மற்றும் நற்கருணை ஆண்டவர் மீதுள்ள அன்பு ஆகிய நெருப்பினால் குருத்துவம் உருவாக வேண்டும்.

ஆன்மாக்களை மனமாற்றவே குருத்துவம் ; அடையாளங்களை உறுதிப்படுத்தவதற்காக அல்ல.

பாவ நிலையிலுள்ள குழுக்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்க குருவானவர் அழைக்கப்படவில்லை, மாறாக பாவிகளை மனமாற்றவே அழைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்.
